Jordan had a loosing record aginst dream head to head

He was getting ten boards a game with 7’1 Parish and Kevin McHale on the same team. He out rebounded those guys. That’s insane. The man just knew where the ball was going to be. He beat everyone with his mind. The muscle that counts. He was a cold mf and let everyone know it. MJ did too so I have a hard time putting MJ over bird. But I can easily put Bird over Lebron. MJ and Bird were on another planet. If I have to be honest Bird beat MJ in almost every dual. Even after Scottie Pippen arrived. Even after he was hobbling on the floor with back injuries. I have to give the nod to Larry as the best. MJ was great and he had way more points than everyone but there sounds like he had some stat padding going on especially at home. Can’t pad points though. All I know is that Bird took his weak team in his rookie years to the playoffs while MJ barely squeezed into the playoffs. I think more people also need to talk about Isaiah Thomas as one of the greats. I think he gets forgotten

I don’t want to disrespect Jordan’s era but Birds was simply tougher. LeBron had probably one of the best finals I have ever scene in Cleveland. However, I watched Bird do it 3 times in a row. Bird made his team so much better. Jordan did well for himself as did LeBron. Bird gets missed because he wasn’t as athletic. He doesn’t have the highlight dunks. But he certainly has a ton of highlights where he burned them all with his fade away.

He played with a fractured cheek bone, achilles tendons on both feet hurt.. bad back.. he powered through .. they don't do that now.. the heart isn't there, to me,, in any sport now.. Larry Bird came into the NBA at an older age because he promised his Mama that he would finish college. Most players don't stay when the NBA comes calling. Bird could have entered in '79, but chose to remain for his senior year at ISU. When Bird was first drafted by Boston, Bird has said he didn't even know until somebody told him. 😂 Heart, hustle, bb IQ, loyalty, no excuses, etc...many of the reasons he is my favorite NBA player ever.

I hated J.J.'s comment that Larry is overrated. I'm going to do something that I don't know about, change players from the era. J.J. would have left the court crying for 5 minutes of play because of the physical difference in the game and what was allowed in the 80s. Many Actions that would now be grounds for sanction in that era were not even a fault

I am a hard core Celtics fan and Bird is my favorite player. However, Jordan is 100% above. I consider bird top 10 pretty much however you wanna measure it, particularly if you take his impact on the game into account. He is the only person to every win MVP as a player, Coach of the Year and GM of the year. You guys hit on the biggest thing. His team went from 29 to 61 wins in his first season. And no, Parish and McHale did not join him until the next year. Nobody else was added in his rookie year.

No one's faulting Lebron for playing so long. The issue is that longevity in itself and cumulative stats don't mean that much. Pete Rose has more hits than anyone, but no one is saying he's the GOAT hitter in baseball. One of the reasons Pete has the most hits is that his career lasted about 4 more years than it should have. The last 2 seasons he was the least productive first baseman in the majors, and his presence might have cost his team 2 division titles. Sound familiar?
